Before attempting a world record in yoga, please read these official rules and guidelines provided by the Yoga Book of Records (YBR).
Yoga Book of Records does not promote or accept records that may result in harm to property, people, animals, or public morality. Any attempt that involves danger, unethical behavior, or public disruption will be disqualified.
YBR is not liable for the safety of participants or bystanders during any record attempt. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all safety protocols, legal permissions, and health guidelines are in place prior to the attempt.
Record applications are reviewed by the official YBR panel and may take up to 30 days. Upon review, a unique Record Claim ID and attempt-specific rules will be issued to the applicant.
Presence of a YBR representative is not mandatory, but a respected official like a District Magistrate, School Principal, or Gazetted Officer must witness the attempt.
At least one witness must be an expert in the relevant yoga category.
A minimum of two witnesses are required. Full details, signatures, and contact information of all witnesses must be submitted.
Submit the following documents along with the claim:
Cover letter with full details of the attempt and participants
Completed witness forms and logbooks
Unedited video footage and high-resolution photographs
Media coverage (print, audio, video, online, newspapers)
Original newspaper clippings and attested copies of ID proofs (e.g., Driving License, PAN Card)
Certification will only be issued once all documents are verified and approved by the YBR team. All materials submitted become the property of YBR and will not be returned under any circumstances.
By submitting your application, you grant YBR full rights to use your record materials (photos, videos, names, etc.) in any media format without additional permission or compensation.
Participants may attempt records in public places and are encouraged to invite local media for coverage. This can help support the authenticity of your claim.
All decisions made by the panel of YBR judges are final. No disputes or appeals regarding the final judgment will be entertained.
